Joint Meeting of SparkLink’s Four Promotion Groups

On August 27th, 2021, the joint meeting of the four promotion groups (Smart Home Industry Promotion, Smart Manufacturing Industry Promotion, Smart Automotive Industry Promotion, and Smart Device Industry Promotion) of SparkLink Alliance was successfully held in Beijing. More than 60 experts from the 28 alliance members attended the meeting.

The meeting was jointly hosted by Xiao Shanpeng (Group Leader of Smart Manufacturing Industry Promotion), IoT Technology and Applied Research Director of China Mobile Research Institute, and Chen Hao (Group Leader of Smart Home Industry Promotion), Consumer IOT Director of Lenovo (China).

In the meeting, the leader members of the four groups made speeches respectively (Smart Automotive Industry Promotion Zhao Meng, a Project Manager from CATARC, Smart Home Industry Promotion Chen Hao, Consumer IOT Director of Lenovo, Smart Device Industry Promotion Lu Yuewan, CBG Standard and Industry Development Director of Huawei, and Smart Manufacturing Industry Promotion Xiao Shanpeng, IoT Technology and Applied Research Director of China Mobile Research Institute), summarizing their recent work and introducing their upcoming work plans.

The Secretariat of the alliance reported the annual work plan as well as the progresses of the standards, test certification system, industry white papers, Openlab construction, and prototype achievements in detail.

In the discussion of SparkLink technology-based prototype verification plans, Dong Xuan, an association researcher from the Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport, proposed the around view system based on the challenges of the fields, the new scenarios that SparkLink technology is applicable to, and corresponding business requirements. Liu Sibai, CEO of Ecochip, proposed the VR solution. Luo Da, an expert from China Mobile Research Institute, proposed the 5G + SparkLink-based motor synchronous control and other prototype verification requirements.

Gao Mingjin, an associate researcher from Sylincom, Xu Guoxin, CEO of Ultichip, shared the R & D plans and progress of SparkLink chips respectively. Sylincom will release the DX502c DSP-based SparkLink chip in 2022. Ultichip will release the Namcha Barwa (UC6010) SparkLink SoC chip in 2022.
